The details
Not many homeowners consider WiFi connectivity when looking for a robot vacuum. But it’s an imperative feature to consider, especially if you’re away from home for long stretches of time.
With WiFi support, you can activate your robot vacuum to start cleaning from a remote location. Better yet, this connectivity enables it to integrate seamlessly with smart home voice assistant technologies like Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
This is what you can expect from RoboVac 30C Robot Vacuum, and so much more.
Features
The first thing you’ll notice about the RoboVac 30C is its classy design. It’s circular in shape with a diameter of about 12.8 inches.
But what’s really intriguing is that it’s just 2.8 inches high. Thus, it can easily fit under low-lying furniture, and thoroughly clean those areas that don’t get enough attention. Its dust bin has a capacity of 0.6 L, which is similar to what you get from its cousin, the RoboVac 11S.
Important to note though is that this robot vacuum cleans in a random pattern. Unlike advanced models that use smart pathing, this one trundles around until it detects an obstacle.
According to Eufy, it employs what is known as Bounce navigation. This means the gadget moves in a random trajectory, which only changes once it encounters an object. This cleaning mechanism is fairly standard for a robot vacuum in its price range. But, it’s not the most effective.
Though it lacks smart mapping technology, it is equipped with cliff-edge sensors. Thus, you don’t have to worry about the vacuum free-falling from an elevated point and breaking into pieces.
Eufy is also kind enough to offer two magnetic boundary strips. So if there are any off-limit or hazardous spots that you don’t want the vacuum accessing, you can set up the strips in these areas.
Ease of use
The ease of setting up the RoboVac 30C is another one of its key strengths. You have the option of controlling it either using a remote or app.
To get started with the app, start by downloading the EufyHome application (can be downloaded on both Android and iOS).
Next, press the main switch located on the vacuum’s bottom to turn it on. Now all that’s left to do is to sign up for a user account on the app, add the RoboVac to your profile, and you’ll be able to issue commands remotely.
We like how the app displays the vacuum’s battery life and status (cleaning, charging or in standby). The start or stop button and the navigational pad are then positioned in the middle of the screen.
Another aspect that contributes to this gadget’s ease of use is scheduled cleaning. With this one, you can configure it to clean on a specific day, and time. However, you can only schedule it to clean once a day.
Battery life
When it comes to run time, RoboVac 30C is on the lower end of the spectrum. Its run time ranges from 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the setting you’re using.
In auto mode, it can clean for up to an hour and a half. But if it encounters a carpet or a spot that’s really dirty, it spends more time, and as a result, the battery drains faster.
Value
For the price, the RoboVac 30C robot vacuum is a decent investment. Offering integration for voice assistant technologies and WiFi connectivity, it’s an excellent upgrade of the RoboVac 11S.
We particularly like the range of accessories that it comes with. Included in the package are replacement brushes, magnetic boundary strips, a replacement filter and adhesive tapes.
Final verdict
If you’re all about smart gadgets in your home, then you’ll fall in love with Eufy’s RoboVac 30C robot vacuum.
Once connected to your home’s network, you’ll be able to schedule cleaning, start or stop the vacuum, and change cleaning modes, all from the app. You get to enjoy living in a clean environment, without having to lift a finger.
