The details
Are you looking for a TV that you can use to stream your favorite tv shows and movies? If you are, then Insignia NS-32DF310NA19 is one of the best models for this application.
What we like most about this television is its fair pricing. For the average American, there’s a good chance that it costs less than your monthly utility bill. This makes it one of the most affordable units in our review. Here’s what you can expect from the Insignia Fire TV.
Design
Right off the bat, you’ll notice that Insignia doesn’t have the most sophisticated design. But for the price, it’s a decent offering.
It has an ultra-wide, thick and somewhat pigeon-toed base. For the top and sides, the panel is a ½-inch bezel alongside a ¾-inch strip along the base. What’s more intriguing though is the structure of its feet. They’re T-shaped and point inwards.
Features
One of Insignia’s primary highlights is the fact that it lets you pick from multiple preset picture modes. These include a standard mode, movie, natura, dynamic, PC and game.
There’s even a custom setting that you can save to use in the future. Based on our tests, the TV delivered a fairly reasonable performance in most modes. But our favorite was the movie mode, which delivered great contrast and brightness.
That said, Insignia NS-32DF310NA19 can benefit from a couple of improvements. For one, the colors weren’t prominent enough in the natural mode. Secondly, the PC and game modes displayed an overly high contrast picture that was lacking in details.
The TV’s 720p resolution is also not the best. The images aren’t as sharp and clear as what you’d get from a 1080p HD.
If you’re watching from a distance of about 4 to 6 feet, the resolution won’t be a very big deal. But if you move closer, the images become a little fuzzy.
The silver lining to this is that Insignia has the Fire TV integrated. This gives you access to hundreds, if not thousands of channels. Plus, it offers support for multiple streaming platforms including Disney+, Hulu, YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, SHOWTIME, and STARZ.
Better yet, you can easily navigate the menus using the provided Voice Remote with Alexa support.
Ease of use
The 32-inch Insignia TV is among the easiest to set up, thanks to the array of ports that it comes with. On its rear, you’ll come across 3 HDMI ports, one of which offers support for audio return channels.
Also onboard the unit is a composite video input, an RF port for an indoor antenna, a digital optical audio output, USB port and an audio mini jack output. So whether you’re a gamer or a cordcutter, you’ll have the perfect ports to use for your devices.
Value
There’s no doubt that the Insignia NS-32DF310NA19 is among the cheapest TVs on the market.
That said, the low price comes with a couple of compromises, especially when it comes to resolution. This one displays content in 720p, meaning the picture quality is not the best.
On a more positive note, you get access to a dozen streaming channels and freedom to navigate functions using Amazon’s voice assistant, Alexa.
Final verdict
Insignia NS-32DF310NA19 is the best TV for homeowners who like streaming their favorite shows and films. It supports a ton of streaming platforms ranging from Hulu to Disney+ for kids and the all-time favorite Netflix. And the best part is, you get all these features at an unbeatable price.
