The details

Mopping is one chore that a lot of homeowners loathe, and understandably so. From having to drag a bucket full of water to dealing with the mop’s gross fibers, not many like to mop.

Thankfully, the Roborock S6 robot vacuum is designed to not only vacuum but also mop. If you’re wondering what else this bot has in store for you, read on.

One of Roborock’s key highlights is its suction power. It boasts an impressive suction power of 2,000Pa. Thanks to this, it’s able to pick up all kinds of dirt including pet hair.

The best thing about this is that even when it’s running on its maximum setting, it’s very quiet. So you won’t have to worry about waking your pet from their nap.

As we mentioned earlier, another highlight of this bot is the fact that it can mop. To use this function, you’ll need to remove the water tank and fill it with water.

Next, put the tank back, dampen the mop cloth, place it on the mop cloth bracket, and slide this bracket back into position. When everything is well set-up, you can start mopping.

The one area where we would like to see a bit of improvement is the capacity of its dustbin. At 0.48L, it’s less than what other robot vacuums offer. This may necessitate you to empty frequently if cleaning a large space.

On a more positive note, the S6 is fairly easy to maintain. The dustbin is conveniently located on the top, making it easy to access and empty. And with the provision of combination brush and hair-cutting equipment, it’s not difficult to keep the bin and roller brush free of tangled hair.

Ease of use

The Roborock S6’ ease of setup is another thing that buyers loved. If you want to charge it, all you need to do is plug it to its docking station and position it properly. Once it’s completed charging, it produces a sound to notify you.

The ability to schedule cleaning in advance is another aspect that makes the bot user-friendly. You can set the specific day (s) and time that you want the S6 to clean.

The only downside to this is that you might struggle to find the schedule function on the app. Instead of putting the option under “schedule”, it’s listed under “timer.”

The ease of navigating is another feature that makes the Roborock S6 very user-friendly. With other bots, they move around in a semi-random manner, taking a rather long time to cover a tiny area.

This vacuum cleaner, however, employs sophisticated laser scanning. This enables it to map the room; hence, find the quickest and most strategic way to cover the space. Encased in the unit’s top is a laser rangefinder that rotates at a speed of 300 RPM, to identify obstacles along the way.

Furthermore, the S6 is equipped with cliff sensors, which ensure it doesn’t end up falling from an elevated point.

Its most intriguing feature though is the capacity to create a map of your space once it’s done cleaning. You can then sketch lines and boxes on the map, to outline no-mop zones within your house.

While this is a handy feature to have, it’s not the most convenient as it forces you to partition entire rooms if they’re carpeted or contain rugs.

The silver lining to this is that once you set a no-mop zone, this setting is automatically saved in the app so you won’t have to do this all over again. And if you wish to edit the zones, you’re free to do so at any time.

Battery life

The S6 is powered by a massive 5,200 mAh battery.

This allows the vacuum cleaner to run for up to three hours, which is a very generous offering. In fact, the only other model that has such a long runtime is Roborock E4.

Taking into account all the features that the Roborock S6 comes with, its hefty price tag isn’t much of a surprise.

While you’ll spend a fortune, you’ll have access to cutting-edge features like support for virtual barriers, long-lasting battery, integration with Amazon Alexa, and the dual capability to vacuum and mop.

Final verdict

Roborock S6 is best suited for homeowners looking for a top-of-the-line robot cleaner with mopping and vacuuming capabilities.

Boasting a suction power of 2,000Pa, a 140mL water tank and 480mL dustbin capacity, it’s the only cleaning tool you need to keep your house immaculately clean.
