Sennheiser HD280PRO headphone

These are one of the best headphones when it comes to bass delivery. Bass-heavy music sounds ethereal when played on this gadget!

  • Brand: Sennheiser
  • Product number: HD280PRO

Evaluation

With the lively, vibrant, and clear audio response, the headphones are perfect for most bass-lovers. However, they might not be ideal for summertime use as the earmuffs can make your ears warm if you wear them for longer periods. The padding over the head is firm and holds the headphones in place if you are walking though, you might have to adjust them once or twice while running.

Pros

The details

The Sennheiser’s HD280PRO Headphones are a dynamic close-ear unit that has a very minimalistic and elegant design. Lightweight and comfortable, the ergonomic headphones offer comfort, extended frequency response, warm sound reproduction, and the option to replace either the earpads, headband padding, or the cord if need be.

Sound quality

The unit does have a pretty good noise isolation property. If you play music on the headphones, you can easily ignore the outside world and focus on whatever you are doing. Although, low-frequency noises, rumbles of bus engines or airplanes might still be detectable, especially if you are listening to the music at low levels. The headphones have a good bass that might make many fans of bass-boosted music happy. The headphones make the bass sound vibrant, lively and gives it the extra ‘thump’ that many bass junkies love. The Low-frequency Extension is around 10Hz, which is also pretty impressive. The treble performance is also great!

Durability

The unit feels sturdy and would survive a few bumps and hits along the way. The ear cups and the headband are made from a dense plastic material so they can handle sufficient physical stress. The weak points of the unit are the ear cup joints and the swivel hinges.

Comfort

The headphones do feel a little bulky when you are wearing them and look like the ones you might find in a studio. The ear cups are thickly padded which conveniently covers the entire ear although, the ears can get hot or uncomfortable if you wear them for an extended period. The headband padding is soft yet sturdy. They do have a sable fit over the head but they might tilt a bit, especially if you are running.

Value

The lightweight headphones offer a warm and natural audio experience that cancels out a considerable amount of ambient noises. The wire is long enough that you can easily move around even when the headphones are plugged in. We loved the fact that the earpads, headband padding, and cord can be replaced if they wore out.

Final verdict

There are a few flaws regarding the design but overall, these headphones are totally worth purchasing especially if you are looking for headphones that offer a rich audio experience that can help you isolate yourself from the surrounding world. It has powerful bass, impressive treble, and great low-frequency response which makes them an elite product when it comes to audio quality.
