The details
Sony WF-1000XM3 offers 24-bit audio signal processing which helps to greatly improve the quality of the sound. Its truly wireless design offers uninterrupted and simultaneous Bluetooth transmission in both earbuds without any lag. With features like smart listening, voice assistance, long battery life, and so much more, the earbuds definitely stood out in the sea of earbuds we tested.
Noise cancelling
You have to barely turn the volume above 50 to block out many of the background noises. Furthermore, the silicone and soft foam tips also help to passively cancel ambient noises. Noises like that of hums and fans can easily be drowned out although, it is difficult to drown out loud noises like crickets chirping, announcements over the intercom.
Sound quality
The sound quality is amazing for music. You can hear the highs, mids, and lows perfectly. The treble and bass are satisfactory and you can enjoy jazz, pop, rock, electronic, and any other kind of music without any complaint. Although, we did not like how someone’s voice sounded when we used the microphone. Even if there is a slight disturbance in-network or call, you will hear a hazing sound. The natural bass is high and it is difficult to clearly communicate with someone while using these phones.
Comfort
The headphones do fit comfortably in your ear; however, you might have to change the tips according to the size of your ear canal. The buds have a bulky design and they do tend to pop out of your ear while you are running. So, these are not for workout sessions.
Value
We liked how quick the charging time was. With 10 minutes of quick charge, you can get almost 90 minutes of playback time. Furthermore, we liked that both the buds provided uninterrupted sound quality on both ears without any lag. You can access the controls via Alexa as well!
Final verdict
These earbuds are pretty impressive although they do have a few tweaks as well. First of all, we did not like how bulky the earbuds and their case were. You can not fit the entire case in your jeans pocket. Moreover, the audio quality is average for calls but phenomenal for listening to music. So, if you are looking for casual listening, the earbuds are ideal. You can take them with you to the library, for a daily commute, and while you are in the office or any other place but not while working out because they will fall out.
